Like any other construction project, the restoration process can get quite messy, particularly in the aftermath of an event that caused considerable water or fire damage and requires extensive cleanup. As part of our mission to be Los Angeles’ most comprehensive restoration provider, Save the Day Restoration will take care of safely packing up and removing your furniture and other belongings from the impacted area to a secure storage location so they avoid further damage while we are restoring your home.

What Are Pack-Out Services?

As the term suggests, pack-out services refer to the process of packing up whatever belongings are in the area we need to restore and moving them off the property. That way, they can remain in as good condition as possible while we carry out the necessary cleanup and reconstruction. In addition to packing and moving your items to the storage location of your choice, we will also return them to their proper place once we have completed all the restoration work to your home or business.

Why Can’t I Remove Them On My Own?

Your first impulse following a major flood or house fire may be to run back into your home and try to recover as much of your belongings as you possibly can. Though you certainly have every right to deal with your possessions as you wish, as seasoned restoration veterans, we strongly advise that our clients leave this part to us as the environment itself is typically unsafe at the moment.

The Unpredictability Factor

After a fire or water damage event, the structure of your home or business is no longer what it was. Even a property that seems safe can pose significant risks because the structural integrity has been compromised, so a floor could cave in or a ceiling could fall at any moment. Restoration professionals know exactly what warning signs to look out for since we deal with these scenarios on a daily basis, so we know how to navigate them safely without causing any further damage to the property.

Further Property Damage

The last thing you want to happen when your home or business has been considerably damaged is to cause further harm. Unfortunately, we have witnessed cases in which homeowners are in such a frantic state that in their attempt to salvage what they can in the aftermath, they end up doing more harm than good. Leave the packing out to the pros so you can avoid further damage to your property or worse, add an extra level of stress by incurring an injury.

Risk of Bodily Harm

Recently damaged properties are a minefield of potential health and safety hazards. In the case of fires, exposing oneself to the smoke and soot that lingers afterward without the proper safety equipment can cause respiratory issues. When there is standing water from a flood or the extinguishing of a fire, it can come into contact with electrical wiring or mix with sewage, placing you at the risk of electrocution or some seriously hazardous bacterias. Our team of restoration experts arrives on the scene equipped with protective gear specially designed to mitigate the risks of these dangerous environments.

Leave The Moving to the Pros

We understand how powerless property owners can feel following such a devastating incident, but as hard as it may be, fighting the urge to salvage your belongings yourself is the best course of action. Any responsible person who deals with these kinds of events on a regular basis would concur that the best way to preserve your property, its contents, and your own well-being is to leave it to the professionals.

Fortunately, the experienced restoration experts at Save the Day Restoration are available around the clock to come to your aid as quickly as possible and mitigate the damage effectively. With more than 15 years of experience navigating these tenuous circumstances, we know exactly what it takes to delicately remove your belongings, restore your property, and return your cherished possessions to their proper place.

The Pack-Out Process

As we mentioned above, no matter when you contact us, our team will arrive on the scene as soon as we can and waste no time, doing whatever it takes to preserve what we can.

1. Need Assessment

Every case has different risks and needs, so our first step will be to assess the extent of the damage and formulate a plan to remove what we can safely so your belongings and the structure itself don’t incur any further damage.

2. Packing & Relocation of Belongings

Once we have settled on a plan of action, we will begin the careful process of packing up your smaller belongings and removing the furniture to clear the area for the cleanup and reconstruction process. Once the items have been removed, you will have the opportunity to sort through them yourself and decide which should be discarded based on how damaged they are and their sentimental value as well as which you would like to place in storage for the immediate future.

3. Restoration & Reconstruction

Since every client’s needs vary so greatly, the exact nature of the restoration and reconstruction process will be determined on a case by case basis. However, you can rest assured that your items are safe from any further damage while we carry out whatever work is required to restore your property.

4. Returning Your Items

Once we have completely restored and cleaned the impacted areas of your property, we will then return them back to their proper place. When possible, we take photos of the impacted area and follow your guidance so the newly restored area is as close to what it was before the incident as possible.

At Save the Day Restoration, our mission is to take as much of the stress off of your shoulders as we can by accounting for all your potential needs during the restoration process. We are all too aware of how traumatic such events can be, so we do all we can to provide you with the peace of mind to focus on what matters most; the well-being of you and your loved ones.
