Hawthorne is a city on the southern end of Los Angeles, situated between Inglewood to the north, Lawndale to the south, and El Segundo to the west. It is one of the seventeen cities located along the southern coast of LA that are sometimes referred to as the South Bay. The area now known as Hawthorne was inhabited by the Native Tongva tribe, Spanish explorers and Mexican settlers before passing into the control of the United States following the Mexican-American War. Hawthorne was established in 1905 as the “Hawthorne Improvement Company” and was given its name because the daughter of one of the founders shared a birthday (July 4th, or American Independence Day) with renowned Massachusetts author Nathaniel Hawthorne. Today, the city is home to around 85,000 residents as well as the headquarters of SpaceX, which is currently the city’s largest employer, employing over 5,000 people.
As a largely residential area situated close to the coast, Hawthorne homeowners need a restoration company they can trust in their time of need to bring their property back to livable, pre-disaster conditions.
